About The Festival

Another year has passed and we’re delighted to present the first part of our concert programme which you will have the chance to check out at the 2020 Prague Proms festival.

Once again we’ve put together a wonderful cocktail of genres to cater to your varied musical palette Classical, jazz, plus a healthy dose of film music. After several years of hosting our Open Air events in Karlovy Vary, we’re returning to our old stomping ground in Prague on 21st June where you can soak up the sounds of the very best of James Bond playing out on Old Town Square.

James Newton Howard has also accepted our invitation to conduct the CNSO perform a showcase of his best soundtracks ranging from Pretty Woman to Hunger Games, this time around hosted by the Smetana Hall.

We’ll also be welcoming the Brno Philharmonic  perform the very best and largest opera choral scenes along with the CSNO conducted by Marcello Rota.  Other highlights for fans of classical music include a concert from the Škampa quartet at the Convent of St Agnes in Prague and the Prague Brass Ensemble in Kutná Hora.

What about Jazz? Be sure not to miss the legendary Spyra Gyra’s show in La Fabrika who are returning to the city after many years away. And let’s not forget Mnozil Brass who will be bringing along a new and exciting project. Both the title ‘Pandaemonioum’ as well as the accompanying photography suggest we’re in for another wild ride.

The festival will be brought to an end with our traditional Hollywood Nights and the glorious Carl Davis.

But that’s far from all we have up our sleeves for next summer! Watch this space for further news about other fantastic artists over the coming weeks.

I look forward to seeing you in June 2020!
